SAIHP Observes World Diabetes Day with Awareness Programme in Bhubaneswar

The South Asian Institute for Health Promotion (SAIHP) marked World Diabetes Day by organizing an awareness programme at Lord Jagannath Mission’s College & School of Nursing, Bhubaneswar, focusing on prevention and early detection of diabetes.

Dr. Dasarathi Das, Executive Director of SAIHP and former scientist at RMRC Bhubaneswar, delivered an insightful session on the growing burden of diabetes in India and globally. He highlighted the importance of early screening, healthy lifestyle practices, and community-level interventions to address this rising public health concern.

Professor Amrita Lenka also addressed the students, emphasizing that diabetes is largely preventable through informed lifestyle choices. She encouraged adopting balanced diets, maintaining regular physical activity, and actively spreading awareness within communities.
